This is the official website of the Village of Magdalena. Renowned as the “Trails End,” the Village of Magdalena owes its moniker to the railroad spur line established in 1884 by the New Mexico Railroad, a subsidiary of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe. This line was vital in transporting cattle, sheep wool, timber, and ore from Socorro to the village. The historic “Magdalena Trail” witnessed the annual migration of thousands of cattle and sheep into town until 1971, leaving an enduring mark on the community's cultural history.

Important Information About Your Water
The 2024 Lead and copper survey results are available for review at the Village Hall. The customers that currently have an unknown status will have a letter informing them mailed out on October 15th. The unknown status is due to the time constraint of reporting to the state. The Lead and Copper survey is at 64%, with no lead found in the village, and should be completed by the end of spring 2025.
